Postdoctoral fellow/Researcher
Offentlig forvaltning
We are looking for a highly motivated and curious bioinformatics researcher to join Russnes’ research group at the Department of Cancer Genetics, Institute for Cancer Research, Oslo University Hospital.
The immune system plays a pivotal role in breast cancer development and metastasis, making it a compelling target for immunotherapy. To uncover novel therapeutic opportunities, a deeper understanding of the dynamic interplay between tumor cells and the immune system throughout cancer progression is essential. The Russnes group focuses on elucidating this interaction by applying single-cell omics and spatial analyses to study how tumor and immune cells co-evolve during disease development.
About the Position
We offer a two-year full-time researcher position focused on computational analysis of single cells from breast cancer samples. You will work closely with a highly interdisciplinary team, including clinicians, pathologists, molecular biologists, and computational scientists.
Kvalifikasjoner:
- A PhD (or equivalent) in biostatistics, mathematics, data science, bioinformatics, molecular biology, computer science, or another relevant field
- Strong background in cancer biology and/or immunology
- Proficiency in scripting and data analysis using relevant programming languages (e.g., R, Python, Matlab)
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Desired Experience
- Experience with high-throughput data (e.g., transcriptomics, single-cell RNA-seq)
- Familiarity with spatial omics or spatial transcriptomic data analysis
