Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Purchaser.  The Purchaser will be responsible for the operational purchasing and logistics for the vessel which includes activities such as handling of requisition and orders, logistical services and supplier management.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Verify requisition details accuracy and support documents as needed, answer supplier and customer inquiries about order changes or cancellation.
  • Obtain quotation from approved supplier based on the requirements
  • Review prices and product specification from suppliers to determine which would provide best offer
  • Place purchase orders upon approval by Technical Superintendent
  • Monitor and expediting orders, verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered, resolves shipments in error with suppliers
  • Ensure that invoice accuracy as per received order and proceed the approval of payment
  • Evaluate supplier performance in terms of product quality and delivery efficiency
  • Ensure suppliers comply with relevant requirements in ISO 9001/14001 and company policies
  • Facilitate collaboration among various departments to ensure procurement and accounting requirements are met efficiently
  • Monitor shipments to ensure accurate receipt of the ordered items from suppliers

Minimum Qualifications

  • You have 2-3 years work experience in Maritime or Fleet Vessel Operations
  • You have better understanding of maintenance system AMOS and IFS
  • You possess energy and drive
  • You master English both orally and written
  • You are a team-player and have good communication skills
  • You are proactive and have the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • You are flexible
  • You have a solution oriented attitude, service minded and friendly
